What things are we running after?

Will they make a difference in the end?

Can they bring us joy and laughter

such as that found with a lifelong friend?

The pleasures of the world are fleeting,

yet we seek them just the same.

Our possessions become our idols,

and worshipping them is our aim.

We each have gifts and talents

to be shared with those in need.

God expects us to follow His example.

Are we willing to sow good seed?

He promises His Holy Spirit

if we repent and are baptized in His name.

Only then can we be empowered

and boldly His Word proclaim.

If we turn our face to the Father

and chase Him with all our might,

He will use us to further His kingdom

so that darkness can be turned into light.

We all have many things vying for our attention at any given time. Life can be stressful as we attempt to prioritize those things and place them in order. Our first task of the day should be coming before our Father in prayer, and asking for the Holy Spirit’s guidance. He shows us the path forward, and guides us step by step.

Peter replied, “Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”   Acts 2:38

Yet I still belong to you; you hold my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, leading me to a glorious destiny.  Psalm 73:23-24 

God wants us to place our complete trust in Him for all areas of our lives. If we are willing to do this, we will gain wisdom on dealing with life’s challenges. He knows our weaknesses and wants us to ask Him for help. As we surrender to the Lord, His Holy Spirit can flow through us and not only give us blessings, but bless others as well.
